Thank you to all the people who turned out on Saturday, September 9, to participate in Mt Zion’s day of God’s Work Our Hands! With willing hands we:

  • Assembled 100 personal care kits for Courage House MKE. Each kit also included a hand written note of encouragement.
  • Creatively painted 36 stones with bright colors and inspirational sentiments for our homebound members. The painted stones were included in a gift bag along with a note of love and support.
  • Delivered those gift bags to our 18 homebound members.
  • Wrote letters to the incarcerated reminding them they, too, are loved children of God.
  • Packed a roomful of food boxes for Tosa Cares to distribute.
  • Cleared out and cleaned the west wall storage area in the Fellowship Hall.
  • Separated good paint products from the unusable, so those products can be disposed of safely.
  • Moved and distributed dirt to help improve the church grounds.

What was accomplished in a few hours may not seem like much, but each volunteer was able to touch someone’s life (more than likely, someone they don’t know), and remind them that God loves them no matter what.

Thank you all, again, for doing God’s work with your hands!

Follow-Up:

The church office has received many calls in the past week regarding the beautifully painted rocks from God’s Work. Our Hands. These small gifts are greatly appreciated by our homebound members.

Thank you so much to all of our volunteers for the work that you do. It spreads love, hope, and joy beyond these walls.
