At our annual meeting this year, we passed a new mission statement. This simple statement, along with our vision and core values, will guide Mt Zion into the future.
Joyfully growing disciples in Christ
(mission statement)
so that
Everyone we meet comes to know themselves as a reflection of God's image, worthy of life and love
(vision statement)
by prioritizing
Faith – Community – Hospitality – Justice
(core values)
FAITH: We root everything we do in the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We seek to help one another experience God in our lives. We listen when the Spirit moves us. We live out the marks of discipleship. (Ephesians 2:8-10; Mark 8:34-35)
COMMUNITY: We are a community of joy and thanksgiving. We get together regularly and celebrate. We care for and support one another and our neighbors. We respond with grace to grief and harm. (Acts 2:43-47; Romans 12:9-18)
HOSPITALITY: We make space to welcome you, regardless of your background. We embrace diversity. We strive to make everyone feel fully included and valued. (Romans 15:7; Matthew 25:35)
JUSTICE: We have the courage to seek justice and address injustice. We help those in need and advocate for more just systems. We support ministries doing the same work. (Micah 6:8; Amos 5:24)
