SFP is a program especially for middle schoolers. Traditionally called "confirmation" or "catechism", SFP is all about helping youth dig into their faith and think about what they believe. It's a space for them to begin asking questions as well as to learn how to practice their faith in their lives. SFP covers a broad overview of Christian basics, like an overview of the basic biblical story, conversations about who God is and what God's like, how to pray, the real challenge of the 10 Commandments, what the Gospel is, practicing Christian service, what we really believe about afterlife, and so much more.
At the end of SFP, the youth have an opportunity to affirm their faith (sometimes called "confirmation" or "affirmation of baptism"). This is their chance to speak, sometimes for the first time publically, about what it means for them to be a Christian and to affirm the promises made at their baptisms.
MZY welcomes young people of all ethnicity, abilities, sexual orientation, and religious persuasion. Journey with us to a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ and the Christian community. ALL REALLY ARE welcome.
