The Evangelical Lutheran Church in America is our national churchbody. Through our partnership with them, we are able to do infinitely more than we could imagine alone, at the state, national, and international level. Some of the most important ministries we support include:
LSS empowers individuals, families, and communities to find healing and a path to sharing their God-given gifts. They provide services to help people struggling with addiction, those who need mental health support, refugees, and more.
LOPPW engages people of faith in the ministry of advocacy for policies that support peace, justice and care for all of God's creation.
Lutheran Campus Ministry provides faith communities and spiritual support to Christians while their are in college. Locally, there are campus ministries at Marquette, UW-Milwaukee, and UW-Madison.
Lutheran Disaster Response brings God’s hope, healing and renewal to people whose lives have been disrupted by disasters in the United States and around the world. When the dust settles and the headlines change, we stay to provide ongoing assistance to those in need.
Lutheran World Relief tackles global poverty by helping people adapt to the challenges that threaten their livelihoods and well-being. They provide aid in emergencies and help families restore their lives, and they partner with communities to build and grow rural economies. Their goal is to help people build self‐sufficiency and create new community‐owned approaches to problem‐solving that will last long after their projects end.
From health clinics to microloans, water wells to animal husbandry, community meals to advocacy, your gifts to ELCA World Hunger make it possible for the ELCA to respond, supporting sustainable solutions that get at the root causes of hunger and poverty.
For over 80 years, Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Service has been a champion for refugees and migrants from around the globe. Partnering with the local LSS office since 1974, LIRS has resettled more than 10,000 refugees in just the Milwaukee area alone.
